Well gosh. I didn't think Bookman earrings would be hard to make, if I can manage his hair then earrings should be a doddle, but whatdaya know it hasn't worked out that way.

  • Aug. 6th, 2008 at 9:59 PM

Ok, tommorow is the day we all set off for Amecon. Costumes are all sorted so no worries there but I bet I forgot something important like toothpaste or jim jams, its always the mundane stuff that gets forgotten -.- I think I'll be ok though, its just normal pre-con jitters~

I'll be away for five days (schweeeet) and hopfully I'll post some pics and Lavi's birthday picture when I get back. I can't wait!

Take care everyone.

Cosplay randomness

  • Jul. 24th, 2008 at 12:58 AM

Filmed by Bel, tis my house though. I do apologise for all the random, we just wanted to try on our costumes before the big convention in august.

Lavi(black coat and eyepath)= Meh!
Rip (girl filming with long black wig)= Bel
Sai(only man thing there) = Will

LOL

Bouken Desho Desho?

  • Jun. 12th, 2008 at 1:42 PM

Gah! I need to update this thing more, I used to be so good with it. What happened?!

I had an interesting experience today.

After many years of herming and hemming I finally decided to stop being a wimp and went to get tested for contact lenses. I felt now was the best time since I'm getting a bit more adventurous with cosplay, having glasses sometimes really limited what I could do, and sometimes it actually ruined the whole costume.

I chatted to my Mum and some friends who use them and they all seemed to give glowing reports, I've always been a bit put off them myself(mostly cos the idea of something touching my eye freaks me out) but millions of people all over the world wear them and they all had to start somehere.

So Mum and I toddled off to town today for my appointment and I had a trail session. It basically meant I had to wear a test pair(one closest to my own perscription) and faff about for two hours to see if they'd blind me or not.

I was a complete wuss when he was putting them on it took four attempts to put the left one in and he had to clean it cos I made him drop it -.- Lord only knows what I'll be like putting them on myself.

It was so weird! My depth perception was buggered at first so Mum had to help me with steps @.@ lest I break my neck! I kept finding myself trying to push my glasses up but they weren't there so I was basically rubbing my nose, I must have looked like a freak(the sort Mothers tell their children not to look at) I think its a nervous habbit now >.>

I went into the shop as well and disovered that I couldn't read the writing on the screens, I was all squinty and "I know thats Dash cos the blur is the same shape as 'Dash'..." Sasuke was very mean to me about that :P

After all was said and done though I think I'll stick with them, I was originally only going to use them for cosplay and for really hot weather, but after the initial flail of putting them on I can see myself wearing them all the time. I've got to go back in about a weeks time cos I need specially made lenses (I have stigmatism in my left eye, which means its shapped like a rugby ball Q.Q) so they need to order them in.

It was all very exciting though! It means I can do so much more when it comes to cosplay.

Speaking of cosplay I can't wait for Amecon this year. I'll be doing Maid Mikuru from the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya(a VERY cute costume) and I'll be doing Lavi from D. Gray-Man.
Bugger me I've fallen so hard for this series, I haven't been this excited about a series since Haruhi Suzumiya. I really like a series which gives you the oppotunity to speculate, and whoo nelly does gray-man deliver on that!

A BATTLE CRY TO ALL!

  • Feb. 24th, 2008 at 4:05 PM

Ok, I watched a new BBC3 program last week called 'Being Human'( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Being_Human_(TV_series)) long story short I loved it.

It was funny, touching, sad and in some bits actually quite tense, not to mention that it was such a fresh concept that work beautifull. Apart from Doctor Who I'd say its probably the best thing to come out of the BBC in AGES. I was looking forward to seeing more of this(the way the episode endded hinted at so much more) but I was shocked to discover that it was only a one-off program. I can't beleive it, its like giving us a piece of yummy cake and then suddenly saying there isn't anymore when we ask for another slice... Its cruel!

I'm so sick of the stuff that the BBC is churning out these days, its all 'reality' programs like Come Singing On Ice X Academy, and badly written comedy programs like My Hero and Hyperdrive. I agree with people when they say television is dumbing down because its true.

I just wanted to type about it because I really REALLY enjoyed it and I want more people to know about it. Its available on BBC Iplayer and there are torrents flaoting about so if you get the chance I urge you to at least watch it... and then sign this petition >_>

If you love me you'll sign it :P
Where else are you going to find a ghost, werewolf and vampire discussing which Hogwarts house they'd be in!

Well Fuck :(

http://afp.google.com/article/ALeqM5ikwypA7ZlPMThDc3N8A0QvB8n7Jg

This is very depressing news.

The best thing to do is get on with life. Yes he's been diagnosed with a horrible disease but its not like he's got a few months left or something.
What annoys me the most though is some of his fans are speaking like he's already dead :( It could be years before he's hit by it completely.

Its really good to see him taking it with such good humour and optimism. Good Luck Mr Pratchett~

My grandmother has had Alzheimer's for over half my life but not once have I ever felt sad or depressed about it, she is still active, healthy and happy so I can at least feel upbeat about that. I find that the best way to deal with it.

Posting this because it made me lol SO hard.

Japanese Doctor Who. Made all the more awesome by Toshihiko Seki as the voice of 10... It doesn't get much better then that ^~^ [fangirly blissy moment]

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=upLkHR5u7N4

Seki is just so good with cute slighty unhinged characters, he can ramble like a pro. He's just so nice to listen to, there is slight purring tone to his voice that just makes me go gooey.

"Bloody Hell!" is what she said

  • Aug. 16th, 2007 at 10:44 AM

Went out for my birthday meal last night. It was quite nice, I had the fish cakes.

Then I accidently set fire to a menu(was holding it over a candle >_>) and endded up having half a jug of water jug chucked on me(the rest went on the menu) I can see the funny side though ^_^ so it was a brilliant evening!

I have returned

  • Aug. 14th, 2007 at 2:12 PM

Hi everyone!

As you can see I'm back from Amecon, I had a great(if tiring) time ^_^
Our costumes looked amazing~ I'll post some pictures up later, It was nice that we did a group cosplay the first to days and then went for costumes that matched our more individual tastes for the last(that way everyone is happy) I adored Duo's Gothic Lolita dress! It was so very cute, and altough it spun me out a bit I loved Dave's L, he is a frightenly good L >_>

Well I took £400 with me(Dave, Duo and Sasuke gave me £10 each for my birthday ^_^) and I came back with £100, so I think I did pretty well. I seemed to have bought a lot of Ghost in the Shell stuff this time around, I blame WigWog, I got two soundtracks for the series and WigWog got me another two (all by Yoko Kanno! SQUEE!)I adore them oh so very much.

I also got my hands on some Suzumiya stoof, a nice gashapon set and a beauitiful statue of Battle Waitress Mikuru(which I had to unpack from the box to get home -_-)I also got a keyring which shouts "Dammit Kyon! Your late!" I would have liked the "MIKURU BEAAAAM!" one but they were sold out. I added a great many plushies to my collection to.

I had a great time but I'm happy to be home, Amecon is a lovely treat to look forward to each year ^_^

I've got loads of photos and even some video footage to show you all later. Watch this space!

Pardon me while I flail about on the floor for a bit.

Shame about the focus but trust me its much better then the first one that was released.
Doesn't the third season look bloody fantastic! So many question!
Zuko better be turning good after this, thats the only reason I'll forgive for him for his actions.

Love Aang's new spiffy monk look, hope he keeps it for a while. Although, I'm quite fond of his undercover FN outfit as well, especially since they added a headband to cover up his arrow.
Darnit! Why isn't there a soundtrack! I'd so buy it -_-

Oh I am so unbelievabley excited about this! I just hope Avatar portal keeps up with their ep updates just so I can watch it. [mutters]Stupid England.

ARGH!

  • Jul. 27th, 2007 at 10:01 PM

Ok, had a tiny little, ever so small, panic attack on thursday. I went to my hairdressers to get my hair cut Haruhi style. Uusally they are really good, any photo I've ever taken in before (some of which have been anime) they've been able to duplicate really well.

They were bound to mess up eventually -_-

My hair is way to short to do either Iruka or Haruhi now! Plus they tell me that I can't temporary dye my hair. Perminent only. Needless to say I did have a "OH MY GOD!" momment when I realised what had happened.

Luckily I jumped into action. Instead of Haruhi I'm doing Yuki, I've bought a Yuki wig and all I need to change with the costume is the colour of the socks and a black cardigan(which I own) sorted. She's probably easier to play as well, plus I get to wear my glasses. Iruka was harder though, the night before Sasuke, Duo, Will and myself had signed up for the cosplay Masqurade, yes it proabably could have been changed last minute (with the costume I could pull off several characters) but I really wanted to do Iruka. No way I'm letting my team down! [Enters Moral Sensei Outrage Mode] NO BLOODY WAY!

I purchesed a crazy scrunchy ponytail add-on and some dark brown hair spray(which I do know will cover my hair up, tis the same make that Dupo sprayed in my hair last year, remmeber! The blue one) and I'm at least able to pin back my hair enough to get it under a wig now, thats good.

I really did feel down though. Yes it looks nice enough but I had to wonder if the girl was looking at the same picture, it really was too short. Turned out she was new and was not used to my strange, but harmless, little ways. Thanks, could have told me that before.

Now onto more important stuff, my county is underwater. That is to say its into the middle of a flood crisis. Personally I'm not affected, I still have water and power and my house is half way have a hill so no danger of flooding. However, the rest of the county is in real trouble, its a bit scary actually. Usually when it floods its never so close to home. But on the friday night I had to wade through a foot of flood water to even get close to a route home from work. Took me about an hour to get home.

On a less important note Ouendan finally broke my DS stylus. LOL I'm really not surprised by this, I'm just amazed it didn't happen sooner. It broke at a really scary place actually, it was at the end of this level I've been stuck on for ages. It went a bit like this.

Sensei-[doing the last crazy bit]COME ON! COME ON! YES YES YES! [stylus snaps]NO! [finishes the last bit with half a stylus]@_@ PLEASE! *END* YES! WHOOOOO! [looks mounrfully at stylus nub]Thank you my friend... [goes to ebay to play.com to order a new one]

Amecon is on the 10th of august, my birthday is on the 9th. I'm a bit annoyed with how close the two are.

On a less

Rejoice! The Second Coming Is At Hand!

  • Jul. 19th, 2007 at 1:36 AM

Second series of Haruhi Suzumiya has been comfirmed(well... I'm about 50% sure it is) but I have my doubts. Mostly because KyoAni hasn't mentioned it at all and if its not animated by KyoAni... Well I'm not sure it will be the same.

Either way I demand that the Tanataba, Disaperance and Snow Mountain chapters get animated. Lest I come down upon them with threatening cookies!
